There are currently no restrictions on travel being imposed by the World Health Organisation (WHO), but it is strongly advised that travellers to areas affected by H5N1 infection avoid exposure to live poultry and uncooked meat, including duck. There have been outbreaks of avian influenza in poultry reported in Vietnam, Thailand China, Indonesia and Malaysia since late June 2004.
