Formerly known as Gesa Assistance, the history of AXA ASSISTANCE dates back to 1959.

The company started humbly in Barcelona, Spain. It provided only one service then, assisting travellers who were involved in holiday mishaps - most commonly motor vehicle accidents - and dealing with the legal issues that subsequently developed.

Since then, the company has grown progressively in size, location and specialisations. Today, AXA ASSISTANCE is a large multinational company based in Paris, France, providing an extensive scope of assistance services ranging from medical to concierge.
